FARMER MANAGEMENT

Management of forests can not be separated from two things, namely the area that is managed and institutions / organizations executive.
In terms of forest area can be seen that the people of the community of interpretation bias against people of different woods from one region to another region. In general terms in the community forests is defined as the area / land owned by the planted timber crops in the fields, gardens, and yards. Related to forest management itself, the people who carried out activities include technical activities such as forestry planting, maintenance, harvesting and setting results.

Planting forests is usually by taking / moving seedlings (thukulan) which stands under the old Jati / fruit to lands owned by them. There is also a buy seed in the market. This activity is related to the activities of citizens. If citizens are the main activities as a farmer, are generally obtained seeds from the field / area that has good Jatinya plants. If the activities that residents work outside the (office / employee) generally obtain seeds from the market / buying. Planting done at the beginning of the boundaries of land owned, considering the soil conditions are still productive for agriculture. The longer the whole land will be planted with timber. The species of the most important is Teak, considering the economic value of the highest among other crops. In addition acacia, mahogany, rosewood and fruit crops are planted in yards and gardens.General pattern of agroforestry farming. Maintenance activities have not performed optimally. But generally include pruning and thinning.
Settings such as forest products in general people are still individual / family within. The most common term we hear is 'cut need'. Logging is greater emphasis needs for commercial purposes / sold to meet the urgent needs of the family as if a party, to pay school fees, and others. This makes the price of wood from farmers become very cheap when compared with prices in the market. In addition, the wood quality is also not taken into account, because it may not yet reached the age of economical cut. While logging needed for their own use / used alone, usually the people who harvest the timber is appropriate for kebituhannya, such as for home improvement.
In terms of institutions / people forest managers, in the village Dengok no specific group to manage. In each village there is already a farmer group, and there are also groups working on forest farming in the state forest land that had been stimulated by the provincial Forestry Department. From this side of the village Dengok still need to be increased institutional farming group, especially those more specific to managing forests in this region.
